*Big Grins*
NEW Video Drop
First up is The Dream’s new single from Love Vs. Money. I didn’t like this song upon first listen but it slowly grew on me and now I love it. It’s catchy as hell. And NOW there is a video *big grins*
This song is alright. I like it. My girl thinks its a rip off of J. Holiday’s, Bed. Valid observation. I actually prefer Trey Songz’s version, First Date Sex, but that has a lot more to do with my love for Trey rather than the song itself. LOL. In any case, newcomer Jeremih (and cousin to Willie from Diddy’s R&B group, Day 26) is blowin up the airwaves with his lead single off his self titled debut. Peep:
So, back in 2004 Kanye West enchanted me with a dope track called Spaceship and it was probably one of only a FEW off College Dropout that I liked. I wasn’t and still am not a HUGE fan of Ye’s like that but I won’t ever deny the dudes talent. I like him much better on the boards than I do as a rapper. In any case, a few days ago Kanye finally released this video that he directed and you can read about GLC’s thoughts here
I LOVE LADY GAGA!!! And fuck people saying she’s trying to style on M.I.A in this vid. This heffa is probably one of THE most original artists in the game right now so save that shit. Go ahead Wale. Rep D.C. I like this joint. Look for his album The Deficit coming soon. I have a question though. What’s with this damn “na na na na hey hey hey goodbye” sample? Jay has it, DeBarge’s daughter has it and Wale has it. What’s the deal, here!? LOL
I posted this simply because I can and simply because I will post practically anything Cory Gunz does. That is all.
And once again, she RIPS shit. This woman is crazy, whacked out, and on a different planet but its why I absolutely love her. She is different and odd and just what the industry needs. Screw the machine spewing out so many manufactured acts. This chick is awesome and she gets nuff ratings in my book. I love the way this was filmed. I love the styling and choreo and just the over all look of the video. Enjoy!
I could just curl up and sleep forever and ever in his dimples. I love me some Juelz. ha! This is his first single from his new album, Born To Lose, Built To Win.
This video is deep. Beautifully shot and with a message, Wale is winning right now. This song will be featured on both the Inside a Change mixtape and Wale’s impending Back To The Feature mixtape.
Random Axe – Monster Babies

Supergroup consisting of Sean Price, Guilty Simpson and Black Milk (WHOA!!!) have released this joint, Monster Babies. It’s dope on so many levels.
Who DOESN’T Love Drake?

So, I was over on my affiliate site, Iluvlola.net (because well, quite frankly, I do
) and she had a few goodies about Drake. A video interview and two media articles that I wanted to share with my readers. It’s funny, I got into it on a forum with some lame about Drake just yesterday. I knew the guy was purposely trying to push my buttons but he was so damn ignorant and uninformed and just an all around douche. He basically told me that Drake will not blow, nothing will become of him and he DOESN’T have next. Now, I’m not a stickler for arguing about who’s the best in hip hop or who’s better than whom because quite frankly, that will always come down to opinions and personal tastes. I don’t force my opinion on anyone. But it was so clear he just doesn’t like Drake. I won’t even call him a hater for not liking Drake but he’s stupid and deluded if he thinks Drake isn’t gonna blow. This guy was completely invested in the fact that Drake is gonna fail. Bitch, Drake has already won.
The success of So Far Gone has boosted Drake’s status immensely and carved a lane that he’s running in (or driving, hell, even coasting in) ALONE. For people that weren’t a huge fan of the singing on SFG, I MADE (I’m not exaggerating. Ask Boog of The Away Team. He’ll tell you! lol) them peep Comeback Season and you know what? People back tracked and said, “Yea, this cat is nice. He’s really nice.” Most of these people are American and hail Toronto anthem, City Is Mine, as one of their favourite joints. Go figure – ha! Dude doesn’t even have an album yet and has the entire rap game buzzing.
Let’s call this guy I got into it with, Douche, to make it easier on me. So, Douche further goes on to tell me that Drake’s hype is less than that of Lupe’s (wtf? kill yourself! where the hell is Lupe Fiasco!? Disclaimer: I actually LIKE Lupe) and that Drake isn’t nicer than Mase, Nelly and some other “pretty boy rappers”. Douche told me Mase is better because of Harlem World. Douche needs to lay off that crack. With regards to Lupe, Douche said “you’re all buggin, if you think Drake is gonna get more spins than Superstar“. Oh, that track he was performing when he fell off stage? Cuz that’s what I remember Superstar for more than anything right now. No, wait – it was another track. My bad.
Basically, Douche is a douche and he’s wack and he’s not whats up. The fact he told me my opinion was invalid (because apparently I can’t just be a fan, I have to be employed by Drake and be on his street team *rolls eyes*) and that I am WRONG for thinking Drake will blow (mind you, last I checked, Cleo checked out and isn’t asking anyone to call her now) had me ALL kinds of irritated last night. It’s one thing to talk shit and push people’s buttons but it’s another to come with ignorance and assume you are right and everyone else is wrong. Drake’s success speaks for itself. Sure, Lupe made noise when he “blew” but let’s be real here, folk! Drake’s noise is deafening. Right now, he can’t do no wrong. He’s on everyone’s minds, even Douche’s. Good or bad, everyone is talking about Drake. Everyone has an opinion and a stance. He’s not going anywhere and the people that have a problem with it can actually suck my non-existent dick and choke on it because when the day comes to eat your words, I’ll gladly hand you a spoon and some sulfur to make it go down easier. Still want to doubt me? Peep the Rolling Stone and NY Times articles below and get familiar:
Also, check out Drake’s interview while in London with SemtexTv as he speaks about working with Kanye, releasing his album and doing it independently and of course, the Rihanna situation.
In the words of my girl, Elle: DONE TYPE.
Perfect For A Saturday Morning
Talented kids always make me smile and they warm my heart. Sungha Jung did that for me this morning. There is nothing like seeing a child take pride in their talents and be GOOD at them. This acoustic version of one of my ALL time favourite Minnie Ripperton tracks (Loving You) is just beautiful.
Listen, watch & love.
