Scrapped Hilson Song Given To New Girl Group

This song is straight fire! However, there’s been a bit of controversy surrounding the release of this song. “Hey Girl” was supposed to be featured on Keri Hilson’s In A Perfect World…, but was pulled from the album at the last minute due to the fact that the song has been given to Robin Antin’s (the founder of  The Pussycat Dolls) new girl group The Paradiso Girls. Renamed “Patron Tequila,” the song is slated to be the girls’ first single and is set to debut really soon.

Haunting In Connecticut

I’m a scaredy cat for horror flicks. I like them but can’t watch them alone. If I AM brave enough to attempt to do so, I do it in the daytime with all the lights on in the house and I do it early enough so that I have the rest of the day to get other things on my mind so I don’t have nightmares when I sleep. I’m not exaggerating here. It’s not so much the horror slasher films as it is the ghost stories and devil demon kind. So, with that said, a new movie hit theatres yesterday called The Haunting In Connecticut. And its based on a true story. A horror film based on a true story makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It looks good, though. I jumped at various points while watching the trailer just now. My heart is still beating fast. lol. Critics are saying if you like The Exorcist you’ll like this. That’s big shoes to fill. The Exorcist is classic and in a league of it’s own. But I just might check Haunting out and do a write up of my thoughts  but only if I have someone go with me, to hold my hand.

Haunting In Connecticut opens nationwide March 27 and stars Virginia Madsen, Kyle Gallner, Elias Koteas (aka Casey Jones from TMNT – lol) and is directed by Peter Cornwell.

Synopsis: Based on a true story, The Haunting in Connecticut charts one family’s real-life encounter with the dark forces of the supernatural. When the Campbell family moves to upstate Connecticut, they soon learn that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner’s clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover. Now unspeakable terror awaits when Jonah, the boy who communicated with the dead, returns to unleash horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family.

Power Out At 8:30pm EST!

I’m not a huge environmentalist but I’m aware. And, I’m quite aware of the magnitude the effect of “Earth Hour” can have on our environment. The only thing I’d probably be doing at 8:30pm is surfing the web since I’m not a big TV watcher and yet, while I’m an Internet junkie, I’m pretty sure I can survive for an hour without electricity. I know y’all can too! Imagine if everyone in the world did that, how much energy we could save! Depending on what you are doing at that time, if you can, make it happen. I’ll probably be home so I’ll take a quick 2 hour nap or something and sleep through it. Or, maybe I’ll light some candles and take a long hot soak in a bubble bath. In any case, do your part. I encourage it. Last year I went off on my BlackBerry messenger and the hour went by super quick. Lol.

First Degree Murder Charges Laid Against Mother In Baby’s Death

This has my stomach in knots and makes me so very sad. The location of the crime is not even five minutes from my house and even less steps from my school.

Peel police have charged a mother with murder in relation to the discovery of a baby’s body in a car parked at an underground garage in Mississauga on Friday.

Bolton woman Nadine Bernard has been charged with the first degree murder of her 18-month-old son.

Police were called to the parking garage on 1 Robert Speck Pkwy at 7:50 a.m. this morning. An arrest was made a short time later.

Police say the 34-year-old worked in the office building of the parking garage where the body was found near Square One mall.

Police say they are treating the incident as a “domestic-related homicide and suicide attempt.” The mother was treated in hospital before appearing in court, where she was remanded in custody.

Bernard has two other children, who are being kept safe by police. There are reports that the family was known to Children’s Aid Society.

Police say the baby’s cause of death will not be released. The murder is Peel Region’s sixth homicide of the year.

Garçons Du Jour

I’m home on a Friday and this is NOT my blogging style but I’m bored and I NEED to write. I don’t really have a topic so I’m writing on what’s been occupying my mind lately. And that’s two sexy actors that have had my attention for a minute.

Right now I’ve sadly, but truthfully, bought into the hype of Twilight. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would or even COULD like this movie but I watched it one afternoon on Youtube, since there was nothing to do, and I found myself completely enchanted by it. I truly can’t pinpoint what it was that made the movie “it” for me, but I was taken in. I won’t say the movie was great or all that but it wasn’t as “lame” or “overhyped” as I thought. It was good. The story of Edward and Bella was sweet. And the chemistry between them was smoking hot.

What I can tell you is that I’ve got quite the crush on “Edward Cullen” though. I’ve always had a love for vampires. They are sexy and seductive and dangerous and I believe it began when I fell in love with Brad Pitt while watching Interview With A Vampire and later, Stephen Dorff in Blade. Now, Robert Pattinson has tickled my fancy and his dark and brooding good looks have me all girlish and acting stupid when I see pictures of him or he’s on TV in an interview.  I’m so ashamed. He’s somewhat awkward and a little sloppy and LOOKS like he doesn’t bathe everyday (lol) but I still go gaga for him. How odd.

My other new little boyfriend is someone I initially said “ew” to and then insisted he’s not my type but wow, his character just turns me on. That snide smirk and enticing stare. Those crazy and outlandish outfits. And his real off-screen British accent has me swooning. I initially didn’t like him because I thought his character was arrogant and condescending and rude and just altogether annoying but I can’t get enough of Ed Westwick. Chuck Bass has quickly become my favourite character on Gossip Girl, far surpassing Blair and Vanessa. Even pretty boy Nate. Mmm Mmm Mmm.

Maybe I just have a thing for dark and handsome Brits that I never knew I had before.
